Beauty and the Flabella

Ipanema is one of the most famous beaches and most beautiful beaches in the world. Yet, even its magnificence is dotted by a backdrop of flabellas (ghettos) climbing up the hills in the distance. There is no escape or avoidance of this reality anymore.
